El 03 de Marzo de 1997 se crea el Instituto Regional del Deporte de Aragua, I.R.D.A., conforme al articulo 8 del Capitulo I de la Ley del Deporte del Estado Aragua, otorgandole categoria de instituto con personalidad juridica y patrimonio publico.
